This unit is based on the book "Little House in the Big Woods" written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
This unit can be done with any resources that are available to you. For the purpose of the unit, I have listed items that I know about or that I have.
Your resources will probably be different.
As much as possible, use your local library to gather the books that you need. If the books are not available at your local library try the ILL.
I hope that you will find enough information here to help you complete one or more unit studies relating to the Little House book!
Have fun!
In His Service,
Lara
How we do our unit...
There are different ways to do a unit study but I will let you "peek" so you will see what we do…
We read a couple of chapters a day from the Little House in The Big Woods book. We then discuss what we have read to create our unit study. And then we work on different subjects.
All of them are not listed here but this is just a "peek" at what could be done!
Have fun!

We pray together, read a devotional and/or the Bible and say our pledges. We all say the Pledge of Allegiance, Pledge to the Bible and Pledge to the Christian Flag.

We use a bit of Alpha & Omega for English. However, we do not limit ourselves to our workbooks… We do integrate some math and English within our study. For copy work and spelling, we use the book also.
GEOGRAPHY:
We use maps, encyclopedias and all we can find to help us understand geography around us.

The children are doing lots of hands-on activities and discoveries. They will be learning about Louis Pasteur and his discovery.

The Life and Times of Louis Pasteur
