activities as you want.
Do them all

Use
what you have on hand or go to the library.
Devotion:
Do daily chores. We read the Bible.
The children do their memory verses for
the quizzing team.
Together we read our devotional.
Children use concordance and look up
words
that are used in this unit: queen, king...
Find some verses with those words and
narrate/explain the verses.
At times, compare the verses or stories
of these kings and queens.
Have open-ended discussions.
Reading:
"Great Women in American History" by
Rebecca Price Janney.
Read a bit of the biography of Queen
Kaahumanu.
Phonics:
DK Phonic book: Read several of these
books and
increase speed of reading.
Read other books that pertain to this
unit study.
Online articles and biographies.
English:
Write 8 sentences from "It Happened in
America"
and diagram the sentences.
Find verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs,
and adjectives.
Copy
Work:
Write sentences from "It Happened in
America."
